Telangana is situated in the southern part of India. This is actually a new state, which was formed in June 2014. The capital city of the state is Hyderabad, while the official languages are Urdu and Telugu. It is also the twelfth largest state in India.

Telangana is famous for the Charminar, which is the global icon of the city of Hyderabad. The state is also known for its mines that produced one of India’s most famous diamonds, the Kohinoor. Golconda or Golkonda is a fort located in Hyderabad. The literal meaning of the name is 'round shaped hill'. The mines of this very region are world famous for producing the Kohinoor, the Hope diamond, and the Nassak diamond. The Hussain Sagar is a lake, which is heart shaped. It was built by Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. The lake separates Hyderabad from the twin city Secunderabad and is 32 feet deep. The state is also famous being home to the Ramoji Filmcity, which is the largest integrated film city in the whole world!
